Bomberman Tournament - GBA Hints and Cheats

Also known as Bomberman Story

Game Review & Description

Ah, Bomberman Tournament, where the noble art of bomb placement meets the frantic dash for survival in a pocket-sized package that could only have been forged in the fiery crucibles of the Game Boy Advance. This game takes the timeless formula of blowing stuff up and wraps it in a quest so engaging, you might just forget to check if your batteries are running low.

Right from the get-go, Bomberman Tournament explodes onto the scene with a bang, quite literally. The game doesn’t just stick to the classic multiplayer mayhem; oh no, it ventures into the realm of adventure, blending in elements of puzzle-solving, monster-battling, and a sprinkle of RPG-lite mechanics for flavor. As our hero Bomberman, players embark on a quest to find the missing Max and thwart the evil plans of the nefarious Brain Bomber in the vast land of Phantarion.

The adventure mode is a delightful concoction of exploration, bomb blasting, and strategic head-scratching moments. Each area is meticulously designed, filled with puzzles that will have you using bombs not just as weapons, but as tools. Need to cross a river? Bomb. A wall in your way? Bomb. Complex existential questions about the nature of existence? Bomb... might not help here, but it’s worth a try.

Graphically, Bomberman Tournament is a feast for the eyes, with vibrant environments and adorable characters that are bursting with personality. The game truly shines on the GBA, showcasing what the console is capable of with explosions that are both satisfyingly chunky and surprisingly detailed.

But let's not skirt around the crater here; the real meat of any Bomberman game is the multiplayer. Up to four players can duke it out in arenas filled with power-ups, traps, and the ever-present threat of being cornered by your own explosive devices. It’s here that friendships are tested, and champions are born, all in the quest to be the last Bomber standing.

Yet, Bomberman Tournament isn’t just a blast to play; it’s also chock-full of secrets and surprises. Hidden power-ups, secret passages, and elusive monsters to recruit as allies in your adventure mode quest add layers of depth to the gameplay. It’s a game that rewards curiosity and experimentation, ensuring that no two playthroughs are quite the same.

For those ready to don their bomb-proof suits and dive into the fray, be prepared for a journey that’s as explosive as it is expansive. The challenges ahead are many, and the path to victory is littered with the remnants of less fortunate Bombers. But fear not, for hidden within the realms of Phantarion are hints, tips, and cheat codes aplenty. These are the tools of the savvy Bomber, secrets that can unlock new strategies, reveal hidden areas, or simply give you the upper hand when you need it most.

Bomberman Tournament stands as a testament to the enduring appeal of the Bomberman series, blending classic bomb-blasting fun with fresh mechanics and a hearty adventure. It’s a game that proves, time and again, that sometimes the simplest concepts—like strategically placing bombs to blow stuff up—can result in the most enduring and engaging gaming experiences. So light the fuse and step back; a world of adventure, strategy, and high-explosive action awaits. And for those in search of an edge in their explosive endeavors, remember, a trove of hints, tips, and cheat codes lies just below the surface, ready to ignite your journey to Bomberman greatness.

Multiplayer Power-Ups

At the start of multiplayer mode, where you've chosen the Hi Power arena, you are initially equipped with bombs that blow up from one side of the arena to the other, which is the same as the Gold Flame power-up. Using this weapon, it's also possible to lay multiple bombs simultaneously, or to start with the devastating bomb kick.

Fusible Transistor

Once you come across Gamma Town, progress south and slay the two Orkmen. Then, enter the colosseum and win five consecutive matches. As a reward, you will receive 150 gold pieces and the Fusible Transistor.

Remote Bomb Detonation

Once you have Sibaloon, go back to the lake in the first zone. You will be able to find a cottage with Firekong, who allows you to remote detonate your bombs.

How to Block Brainbomber

Bombs can be used to block Brainbomber's lightning strikes, the groundtrail, and the targeting.
